SpaceClaim Hosts Seminar in UK Featuring Panel of Industry Leaders
Tuesday, 28 September 2010
Industry Visionary Michael Payne is Joined by Graham Baldwin of GE Aviation Systems and Chris Randles, CEO, SpaceClaim to Discuss Latest Advances in Concept Design and 3D Direct Modeling
Coventry, UK, September 28, 2010: SpaceClaim, the leader in 3D Direct Modeling solutions for rapid concept design and geometry manipulation, today announced a half-day seminar available to engineers that will address the challenges and solutions in product development design. The seminar will be held at the University of Warwick on October 27, 2010 and will feature executives from SpaceClaim and GE Aviation.
All manufacturers today are under increased pressure to eliminate waste, streamline collaboration, and increase productivity through the product development cycle. These lean product development initiatives have forced a reevaluation of current tools and practices and driven new levels of innovative solutions, including SpaceClaim’s 3D Direct Modeler. Attendees to this seminar will hear, and be able to participate in, a lively discussion on strategies to overcome engineering challenges from visionaries with more than 20 years experience, including:
• Michael Payne, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of SpaceClaim. Prior, Payne co-founded two of the largest CAD companies, Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) – serving as Vice President of Development – and SolidWorks – where he was Executive Vice President of R&D and subsequently CTO for Dassault Systémes after the company acquired SolidWorks.
• Graham Baldwin, Physical Concepts Architect, GE Aviation Systems. Baldwin will discuss how GE Aviation used SpaceClaim to provide concepts and industrial design within the bid process for China’s first, large commercial aircraft, a multi-billion dollar project they subsequently won.
• Chris Randles, President and CEO, SpaceClaim. Randles has over 25 year's experience in the application software industry. His career has encompassed a variety of sales, marketing, and general management positions in the US and Europe for application and enterprise software companies. Randles led the management buyout of Mathsoft and served as its Chairman, President and CEO until the company was acquired by PTC.
The seminar will include a Q&A session with the panelists and demonstrations of real-life engineering design challenges addressed by SpaceClaim’s ease of use and flexibility for concept modeling, bid modeling, and model preparation.
