SpaceClaim 2012 includes new capabilities and improvements in ease-of-use, interoperability, modeling, detailing, performance, and deployment. This image depicts a global Marine (Australia) 16 meter aluminum catamaran with Austmarinetech-engineered propulsion, power generation, and plumbing systems in the context of a wide variety of imported 2D and 3D CAD data. SpaceClaim 2012 includes the groundbreaking new capability to automatically increase the fidelity of SketchUp models upon import. The model on the left shows the raw, unprocessed SketchUp geometry. The middle image shows the result of the new automatic clean-up upon import. The right image depicts the result of using SpaceClaim’s automatic repair and interactive modeling tools. |
Customer Quotes
“A customer sent us a solid model of aircraft cabinets that was created in CATIA V5. We tried SpaceClaim to translate the data from CATIA and we were amazed at how quick and easy the process was with SpaceClaim and how successful we were in using the software the first time out. Clearly, we had found the right tool for the job.”

Aeronautic
“We use SpaceClaim to prepare geometries from multiple 3D CAD systems for simulation and to transfer it between the individual CAD systems. For us, it is important to use an intuitively operable tool to simplify geometry and to also generate complex models without having to learn the complex functionalities of other CAD tools.”
Reimar Herrschuh
Calculation engineer
Kirow Ardelt
"We identified a need for a 3D design tool for engineers involved in concept modeling and simulation that was easy to use, didn't require intensive training and yet was precise, powerful, and worked with our existing CAD and CAE tools. SpaceClaim met the key requirements of our global business units..."
"The argument for streamlining by enforcing a single CAD platform is a thing of the past. The goal is to streamline the workflow while introducing the best tools for every job. Although a mix of tools comes at a higher support cost, reducing wasted time in engineering and getting products to market faster is what gives us our competitive edge. We have achieved this goal by empowering our engineers with SpaceClaim.'"

"SpaceClaim and Google SketchUp share a long-term vision of enabling everybody to work in 3D. SpaceClaim's ability to turn SketchUp files into precise solids suitable for manufacturing - without remodeling - will enable mechanical SketchUp users to more quickly realize their vision, and help SpaceClaim users take advantage of the millions of models available in our 3D Warehouse."
