In a situation where Spaceclaim is already running, opening any SC document on my desktop or elsewhere by  double-clicking it's icon, launches a new instance of SC to display the  document, instead of opening it in yet another tag in the already running instance.

This leads to multiple instances of SC running at the same time on my PC, and also opening takes quite a long time, while SC has to be launched once again, with splash sceen, UI and all. 

I wonder if this is bug or feature?

 Hello Martin,

 I suggest using Drag-and-Drop to add files to your active SpaceClaim session.  Note that dropping the file on the title bar will open a new tab, while dropping into the design window will insert the file into your active document.

 I have also filed a request to Development to allow this to be configurable.

 what confuses me most is that even when the currently running istance of Spaceclaim has no open documents, double-clicking any SC document on the desktop opens a new instance. I'd expect that at least then,  the file would open in a tag in the open application. 

 Drag and drop has it's limitations. It is nice when you have room on your screen, but if you have all your files on  a server and need to open tons of windows to navigate there, it is most unlikely to have any SC window open at the same time. Double-clicking the file icon just feels natural, then.

If it was configurable, I'd most probalbly set it to open in a new tag when double clicked. Good idea of yours.

Could an option to 'open in a new tab' / 'open in a new instance' be added in the right-click menu for SC files?

 In the upcoming Service Pack 2, double-clicking an scdoc will open the file in a new tab if SpaceClaim is already open.  Thanks for the great enhancement requests.
