    Handle Location

When moving a large object (big enough that it doesn't fit on the screen at the current zoom level at any rate), it would be nice if the handle was initially located on the screen instead of having to zoom/pan for it.

    Thanks

Yepp, that's a good one, these were exactly my thoughts. I second that request.

There are times, when the screen zoom is not dictated by the size of the object to move, but by the reference object for the move direction and distance. If a large object is to be moved only a small distance up to something else, we need to zoom in on the other object rather than the moved one.  Still we need to define the move direction via the handle, which is then out of sight.

The latest version (2011.1.0.08176) is exhibiting this behavior.  A real time sink.  I thought this behavior had been fixed in the past 2 years?  I can't verify for sure as I don't have any older versions installed

    Thanks,

    Re: Handle Location

It HAS indeed been addressed some time ago, though while doing so, a new problem was introduced: The move handle did now always appear on the screen, but many times off the reference plane the user picked (without giving him any notice, of course ...) and would also not go back on the refrence even if the user used the anchor tool. This was now meant to be improved in the 2011+ release, so it might well be the handle's behavior has again changed. It would be a bad thing, though, if it just reverted to the annoying kind of behavior it had before 2010.
