    detailing

Are there any decent tutorials on detailing. there are a lot of simple things that I would like to do but cant figure out. Such as hot to drop trailing zeros to dimensions, include the unit in the dimensions, align different views, match annotation properties. I use SpaceClaim as an engineering tool but sometimes i want to send the drafting department a quick drawing sheet showing basic dimensions and stuff and it seems like I spend a lot more time than i should when detailing the parts in spaceclaim.

     Hi Will,

Currently, there is a basic tutorial on detailing. It can be found here:

     http://www2.spaceclaim.com/stream/video.aspx?v=drawing_intro.flv

Also,to drop trailing zeros in dimensions,  this can be done by selecting the dimension and in properties>precision, you will be able to set the number of decimal places you desire. All the other options such as units and annotations can be set under SpaceClaim Options > Detailing.

     Hope this helps

     Best,

     Sasi

    Re: detailing

I am using 09+ SP1 and to show the units on the dimensions i have to go to the options > units and then check "show symbol in annotations."

And if i want to use fractions instead of decimals. I go to options > units > decimal/ fraction = 1/16. I do this and my dimensions are still in decimals. I have to change my precision to zero in order to get the fractions to appear instead of decimals. This seems like it should be standard that if I have fractions selected instead of decimal then the precision should not affect this. I constantly forget to do this and waste time trying to remember how to get it to work.
