I am using ANSYS Spaceclaim and I wanted to split an edge to allow more control of some imposed boundary conditions.  I couldn't find a way to do this. I tried to split in sketch, but the curves were merged when I went back to 3D.  ANSYS DesignModeler has tools to split edges, if they are not in Spaceclaim it would be valuable to have it available in Spaceclaim.

I suppose You want to split face by some points.

In 3D modeling, split face will be an answer for You. It splits also edges of the face. It is possible to use Move tool (M) for rotation of new line if is desired.  

You can also use pull toll (P) on the edge. Then press Right Mouse Button and select Copy Edge. You will be able to freeley drag the selected edge on the surface and split the edge by it.
