  • Exploded view

I'd like to show an exploded view of an assembly next to an assembled view on the same sheet. Is this possible? So far I used the move command but that modifies all the views on my sheet.

Hi djnelson, A work around for this would be to open up these annotation as an image in the SpaceClaim design window and connecting a note leader to the image. Images of these annotations can easily be found on the internet. Hope this helps, Sasi

Hi Will, Currently, there is a basic tutorial on detailing. It can be found here: http://www2.spaceclaim.com/stream/video.aspx?v=drawing_intro.flv Also,to drop trailing zeros in dimensions, this can be done by selecting the dimension and in properties>precision, you will be able to set the number...

  • Re: Formats and multiple drawings

I totally agree with Martin on this. It would be very convenient if you could use different sheet sizes/drawing formats in one file. We do everything internally as long as we're developing concepts. Making drawings can be a real pain, because now all the part have to be made on the same size. We've...

  • Keep drawings attached to internal components when copying to a different file

A problem I run into frequently when I'm developing concepts, is that I want to copy a component (with a drawing) from one file to the other, but that it only copies the component, and not the drawing that I already made of it. Here at our office we have some rules concerning modelling in Spaceclaim...

  • Re: Formats and multiple drawings

Hello Martin, Formats are applied to a document, so all sheets in the document will have the same format, and switching it will update all sheets in the document. If you have an assembly of external components (where each component is its own document), then you will see the behavior you are describing...

  • Re: exploded view

Willem, The workflow for using Fulcrum is identical in a Drawing Sheet as it is in the Design window. Could you send an example model that you are having trouble with to Support@SpaceClaim.com for me to take a look at? One thing to note, Fulcrum is not intended to create a distinct "Exploded View"...

  • Re: Detail Prints

Hello Don, If you want to create a drawing containing only one part, you can do so by opening that component separately from the assembly. In the Structure Tree, right-click on the part you wish to open and select "Open Component" which will open a new design tab containing only the selected...

  • Re: The use of engineering drawings of some questions

Hello josephy, Q1: It looks like you figured out which options you needed to remove the unit symbols from your annotations. If you have other questions concerning annotations or dimensions, I would be happy to answer them. It appears that you are using SpaceClaim 2008. You may be interested in upgrading...
